CISD has undertaken multifarious development programs for the community peoples specially women and children. The objectives of the organization are:

- To facilitate non-formal primary and adult education with special emphasis on women and working children in order to enhance overall literacy rate in the country;
- To promote planned families & reducing maternal & child mortality and morbidity as well as to change the behavior of the community people to prevent HIV/AIDS;
- To develop safety communication and sustainable environmental sanitation, hygiene, water supply and arsenic mitigation in urban and rural areas;
- To campaign for human rights and good governance especially for the tortured women and children and reduce violence against women and provide them legal supports;
- To create mass awareness about environmental laws and issues and development and core group of environmental activists;
- To develop community-based organizations (CBOs) and mobilize local resources for spurring self-employment and income-generation for the urban and rural poor specifically women;
- To provide relief and rehabilitation supports to the disaster affected peoples during natural calamities and adaptation of climate change and related actions to address its harmful effects;
- To initiate right based activities specially food, health and water security for the community peoples; and
- To create mass awareness on disability issues, empowering the disabled population, ensuring/protecting the rights of the disabled population and provide health and rehabilitation assistance to disabled persons.
